Little Pond Excerpt:

A gentle breeze circled the couch ruffling the little cat’s fur. Zara the kitten stretched and slowly opened her eyes. She purred happily, refreshed from hernap. Then the happy kitten turned to her friend Dylan the duck, who had been resting next to her. Surprisingly, the little duck was gone. Zara meowed, quietly calling Dylan. Then the kitten listened very carefully for quacking. She waited patiently but didn’t hear a peep. Zara sat up tall and meowed again. This time, when she didn’t hear a response, the little kitten leapt up to the back of the couch to search the entire family room. Zara knew this game. They were playing hide and seek! There was no sign of her fuzzy friend in here. Zara bounced from the couch to the chair and onto the floor. She felt sure Dylan must have waddled off to one of his favorite spots.
