Byron Kennedy is the cofounder and CEO of SPEE3D, a high-speed, metal 3D printing company. He is a serial entrepreneur, having cofounded the first spin-off company from Charles Darwin University before exiting to NYSE listed company Regal Beloit (Fasco). His current company, SPEE3D has developed a new 3D printing process for metals - supersonic 3D deposition (SP3D). Targeting commercial and industrial applications, the technology is suitable for a vast array of materials including copper, aluminum and other metals.

He joins the show to talk about the Speed3D technology and approaches to increase the throughput of 3D Printing metal.

Tyler LeBrun is an independent Additive Manufacturing consultant at Protingent. Prior to his current role, he spent several years in the aerospace sector at both Blue Origin and Aerojet Rocketdyne.

Tyler is actively engaged in industry volunteerism with the drafting and review of standards pertaining to all aspects of additive manufacturing. He’s a committee member of ASTM and ISO. He’s also a Regular contributor to SAE Aerospace Materials Specifications including authoring and leading working groups on draft specifications ahead of general committee review and ballot.

Dr. Candice Majewski is a senior lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Sheffield, with a teaching and research focus on Additive Manufacturing.

Much of her work centers around understanding and optimizing the interactions between materials and processes in AM involving powdered plastics.

She joins the show today to talk about developments in powder-based polymer printing processes and the work her team does in developing new materials for industry.

Tuan Tranpham is the Chief Revenue officer at Arevo. Arevo is enabling manufacturing-as-a-service for delivering composite manufacturing today via through breakthroughs in software, robotics, and materials science. With on-demand manufacturing of large thermoplastic composite parts and structures from bikes to flying cars, Arevo is revolutionizing mainstream manufacturing and the global supply chain. Tuan has spent last 17 years working for seven 3D printing companies such as Z Corporation, 3D Systems, Objet, Stratasys, Arcam (GE Additive), Desktop Metal and now Arevo.

Tuan joins the show to talk about his experience selling multiple 3D Printing platforms and how the customer of the technology has evolved over the past decade.

John Hart is Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Director of the Center for Additive and Digital Advanced Production Technologies (APT), and Director of the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity at MIT. John’s research aims to accelerate the science and technology of production via advancements in additive manufacturing, nanostructured materials, and precision machine design. John created the world’s first massive open online course on manufacturing processes (MIT 2.008x on edX), and leads MIT’s online additive manufacturing certificate program, which has educated thousands of professionals since its launch in 2018. He is also a co-founder of startup companies Desktop Metal and VulcanForms, and is a Board Member of Carpenter Technology Corporation.

Todd Grimm is 29-year veteran of the additive manufacturing industry. Todd is president of T. A. Grimm & Associates, an additive manufacturing consulting and communications company. From his work as a consultant, writer, author, speaker, editor and advisor, he was named as one of The TCT Magazine’s 20 most influential in the additive manufacturing (AM) industry and has been twice nominated for the TCT Hall of Fame.

Todd joins the show to talk about how he got his start in 3D Printing and the evolution of the technology over the past 30 years.
