3rd Degree the Podcast

This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - get the joy of breaking down one of the best comebacks in club history. A feat that has only happened five times before.  Triggered by Coach Eric Quill's subs and the formation change, Osaze Urhoghide led his team to an epic comeback. There was so much good in this game, but it underlined the Lucho Acosta problem. 

Plus, Dallas Trinity rolls (and has just 1 home game left), Texoma FC fell in the Jägermeister Cup, North Texas SC won, and the USL- Dallas brand drops on Friday.

This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - take apart the FC Dallas game at Minnesota and try to answer the most important question: Is this team fun to watch?  Coach Quill rotated a bit against the Loons. How did that go? And will we see something similar at Miami? Will Messi even play? Will the national media ever notice the great and powerful Oz?  

Plus, Dallas Trinity got a tie after losing Missimo for the year. Texoma finally for a point. And a banged-up North Texas SC lost in the 92nd minute to Rapids 2.

This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - try and slog through the analysis of the most boring game of the season. Don't kid yourself, this was a bad loss by FC Dallas. FCD was bad in almost every phase, except perhaps for a couple of defensive pieces. Delgado was a disaster, Julio was invisible, but at least everyone got to see Kaick start. Now Petar Musa is hurt, and FCD is about to begin a brutal three-game road stretch.  On the bright side, FCD has a nifty new TV deal.

Continuing the bad week for DFW soccer, Dallas Trinity and Texoma FC both lost on the road in Spokane. At least North Texas SC won in PKs at Austin.

This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton and Buzz Carrick (Dan Crooke is doing something with foodstuffs) - have a road tie podcast, which, while excellent, isn't as good as a road win podcast.  Peter opens the discussion with an Oz HSO, the duo breaks down the good and bad against Atlanta, gush over Nolan Norris and Lucho Acosta, take a quick look at the poor start of Seattle and Jesus Fereira, plus Buzz talks tactics and how the FCD side might change in the next couple of months.

Then it's on to 1st place Dallas Trinity, middle of the pack North Texas SC, and "the struggle is real" Texoma. Plus, there's some USL Cup talk, more pro/rel talk, and lastly... always epic kit talk.

This week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - kick off a home win podcast breaking down the end of the Peter Vermes era game against Sporting KC.  Norris started, Acosta joined the 75/75 club, Oz excelled, Chu disappointed, and FCD bunkered. And won!

Dallas Trinity played and tried to make Buzz puke, North Texas SC blew a 3-1 lead, and Texoma FC couldn't get their first win. Plus - and this will amaze you - there was more kit talk and this time it involved oranges.

Any road win is a good win, and this week on 3rd Degree the Podcast, your hosts - Peter Welpton, Dan Crooke, and Buzz Carrick - have a good old road win to talk about. Yes, a red card and a physical game where there could have been a few more. Everyone played pretty well, but that happens when a team is a man-up. Still, there are plenty of takeaways to ponder. And the red hat was back. Sporting KC is next, will Anderson Julio be available?

Plus Trinity stomped Brooklyn, again. North Texas SC got wrecked. Texoma had a nice crowd for their league opener but didn't get the result.

FCD has now lost their first two at home for the first time since 2009. Wherein lies the problem? Is it fixable? How does Coach Eric Quill right the ship? Real Salt Lake is next for FCD without Maarten Paes. Ouch.  Next on the show Dallas Trinity travels to New York to take on Brooklyn. Third is a check-in with North Texas SC. Fourth, the local 1st round US Open Cup hits on Tuesday with Foro SC at Texoma FC.  And finally, Buzz has a shoutout for Roman Torres.

Eric Quill gave us one of the most remarkable post-game press conferences in years. Now FCD must look ahead to red-hot Vancouver this weekend. Plus Dallas Trinity smashed Brooklyn, North Texas SC stumbled hard out of the gate, and Foro SC won the Texas Cup.

And what a fun Tuesday it is as FC Dallas remains undefeated with 4 points in two road games. Moose and Squirrel up top are looking good, the great and powerful Oz continues to deliver, Lletget remains too legit, and even Pedrinho shined. Ramiro on the other hand, is getting bypassed.  Now it's time for the home opener and the Brimstone Cup against the Chicago Fire.

Plus, Buzz has some USL news you won't want to miss, Dallas Trinity takes on the team atop the USL Super League standing - Brooklyn FC,  North Texas SC has their season opener, and there is another... yes another... new club in town Central Dallas FC.
