  • #101 - Kelsey Fender, Men's League Football, Coaching and Alouettes Expectations

Kelsey Fender is a man of many trades playing for the Calgary Wolfpack of the Alberta Football League (AFL), coach for the Big Time 7v7 League and a professional bartender.

We discuss Kelsey's origins in the game of football and how he fell in love with the Montreal Alouettes growing up just outside the city. Kelsey gives us a breakdown of the difference between playing in Quebec and Alberta.

We then turned our attention to the Alberta Football League and the players that make up the seven-team men's league. Kelsey explains the tumultuous winless seasons before turning it around in 2019.  The balance of being a coach versus player is one that many struggle with in making that transition, Kelsey drops some advice for those making the switch!

Finally, with both Auzzie and Kelsey being Alouettes fans, we chat about the expectations of Vernon Adams Jr. this year and if he and Montreal can replicate the success they shared in 2019.

You can find Kelsey on Instagram:

  • #99 - Hi! My Name Is...The Evergolds?

Episode 99 unpacks the Super Bowl and what it means for the legacies of Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes going forward. We also discuss what went wrong for the Chiefs and the lack of adjustments made during the game.

There appears to be unrest brewing in Seattle with Russell Wilson voicing his concern on Seattle's (poor) construction of the offensive line. Is a divorce on the horizon in an off-season that has already seen one blockbuster quarterback trade? Or can Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson mend the gap philosophically in terms of what they want to achieve going forward?

Finally, we take you to The Canadian Corner presented by Devon & Lang! It's a frenzy in the CFL! Quarterbacks switching teams, free agent floodgates opening up and Toronto constructing a dream team. We discuss it all as well as the seven finalists for the name for the Edmonton Football Team.

Thanks for listening, as always your feedback is appreciated. Please leave a review and drop us a DM if you have any constructive feedback (just don't yell at us).

  • #97 - Josh Allen, AKA White Chocolate

Divisional Round brought the conclusion to a promising Browns season, a roller-coaster Ravens season, Rams hard-fought year and Drew Brees' career. We recap each game and the implications going forward.

What do the Browns need to compete with the elite of the elite?
What pieces are the Ravens missing, where can Lamar Jackson improve his game?
Is "only" one Super Bowl a disappointment for Brees & co.?
Is Jared Goff the starting QB for the Rams in 2021?

We then shift our attention to the AFC & NFC Championship games. Unlike last season, these games are truly a "pick-em" game. Both the Bills/Chiefs and Bucs/Packers matchups offer exciting storylines.

Finally, we turn to Canadian Corner, sponsored by Devon & Lang and discuss where we think consensus #1 free agent Jeremiah Masoli will land.

On a programming note, we will be taking next week off to re-charge but will have a recap of the championship games and a Super Bowl preview ready to go on February 3rd. Until then, keep up with us on social media!

  • #96 - Schott to the Heart

Join the guys for Episode 96.

Before recapping a crazy Wild-Card weekend, the guys digest the news of the Eagles parting ways with Doug Pederson and the Seahawks firing Brian Schottenheimer. What does this mean for each team going forward?

The Wild-Card games have come and gone and things are spicing up. The guys recap the games and discuss what they saw from this week's action. Are the Browns for real after a big win against the Steelers Sunday night? Listen and find out.

After the recap discussion, the team flips to the upcoming slate of games. The run-heavy Ravens head to Buffalo to play the pass-heavy Bills. The stout defence of the Rams looks to slow down the red hot Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. The Underdog Browns look to silence their critics against the juggernaut Chiefs. And Finally, we see Tom Brady get one last shot against the rival Saints.

  • #95 - Pound the Damn Rock

Episode 95 brings you a full playoff preview of Wild-Card Weekend! We preview all the games and offer predictions on who will be advancing to the Divisional Round. Wild-Card Weekend offers huge matchups of Indianapolis @ Baltimore, Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle, Tampa Bay @ Washington, Baltimore @ Tennessee, Chicago @ New Orleans and Cleveland @ Pittsburgh (this was recorded before it was known that Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski and other staff/players tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss Sunday's matchup).

Before that, we discuss how we got to these matchups with our Two-Min Drill and talk about whether or not Miami should pull the plug on Tua as they hold the #3 Pick in the 2021 NFL Draft thanks to a trade with Houston. Finally, from Week 17, we commend Chris Streveler on stepping in during a trying time in an unfavourable situation and the unwarranted criticism he faced during his stint as starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals.

As always, be sure to find us on social media! We appreciate any and all feedback. And, we just like to chat football, so hit us up with your hottest and spiciest takes!

  • #94 - 2020 is No More

While we're almost off the rollercoaster year that was 2020, we decided to do a little trip down memory lane and highlight the biggest football storylines of 2020. Spanning from the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Super Bowl all the way back in February to the CFL's lost season.

Next, we dive into Week 17s biggest games with playoff implications that still have to determine three Wild-Card spots in the AFC and crown a division champion in the NFC East. Not to mention the #1 seed is still up for grabs in the NFC as well! The fellas are all rooting for former CFL quarterback, Chris Streveler but all see the game against the Rams playing out differently!

Lastly, we want to thank everyone who has tuned in over the past year. It's hard to believe when 2020 started we were looking forward to our Super Bowl party at Skinny's Smokehouse in Medicine Hat and how much has changed since. We hope you've been able to stay safe over the course of this hectic year and appreciate your continued support!
