  • #71 - Interview with CFL Agent, Jayevan Foster

We'd first and foremost like to dedicate this episode to former McCoy Colts football coach Rick Boksteyn. Our tribute to Coach Boksteyn can be found here. Coach Boksteyn left a rich legacy that won't soon be forgotten in Medicine Hat and Southern Alberta. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones at this time.

We're pleased to bring to you this episode with the founder of Empire MGMT, Jayevan Foster! Jayevan is a CFL agent who's quickly making a name for himself in Hamilton and the CFL as a whole. Hear his insight into what got him into the business, advice for up and coming players and his thoughts on the current CFL-COVID situation.

You can find Jayevan on Twitter @JayevanFoster & @Empire_MGMT and on Instagram @jayevanfoster & @empiremgmt.

  • #70 - The Polarizing Chicago Bears

Steve and Austyn begin this episode by breaking down the unprecedented 10 years, $450M extension for Patrick Mahomes. They then discuss what this means for the future of NFL QB contracts.

Next, they give their predictions for the NFC North - and you may be surprised to see who they have winning the division. Are the Packers equipped to repeat their regular-season success of last year? Can the Vikings build off of their Divisional Round appearance? Who will be the Bears QB, and will they be able to compete in a tough NFC? And then there's the Lions... sorry Lions fans, it's not your season.

Lastly, the guys give the latest from the CFL. The CFL denies the rumour that Winnipeg will be a hub city for the shortened regular season. Also, the Eskimos have begun to face pressure from sponsors to change their name.

Speaking of sponsors, this episode is sponsored by OKE Apparel! • #69 - Newton's Law of WINNING

Episode 69 brings you the breaking news of Cam Newton signing with the New England Patriots for a veteran minimum deal. The guys break down how many more wins this could mean for the Pats compared to if Jarrett Stidham were to start. Auzzie also tells a tale of how he heard about the news, albeit, delayed.

The guys then jump into the rumour mill after a video surfaced of ostracized wide receiver Antonio Brown catching passes from Russell Wilson in a private workout session. Leading many to speculate if the Seahawks would consider signing the controversial wideout.

Would you catch a live game during COVID? The NFL may give you the chance as they are considering waivers for fans to sign to come in and watch live games for the 2020 NFL Season.

Finally, the guys break down the NFC South with lots of movement between Tom Brady signing with the Buccaneers, Teddy Bridgewater joining the rival Panthers and the aforementioned Cam Newton leaving the division entirely. How will it all shake out? Steve and Auzzie have very differing answers.

Stay tuned next week for an interview with a CFL offensive lineman! We can't wait to bring that one to your headsets. Until next week, give us a shout on social media, you know where to find us!

  • #68 - Middle of the Pack

Auzzie & Zach were both MIA so Stephen called upon his roommate Tristan (former host of B2B) to fill the void. It couldn't have come at a better time as the guys break down the NFC East and Tristan's Eagles.

Can Dak and Mike McCarthy lead the Cowboys to a division title or will the championship calibre duo of Doug Pederson and a healthy Carson Wentz lead the Eagles to their second straight division title? Meanwhile the Giants and Redskins battle for respect with brand new coaching staffs and young pivots.

Finally, the CFL continues to toil in the abyss with running back James Wilder Jr. announcing his retirement from the CFL due to financial uncertainty.

We are also pleased to announce our partnership with OKE Apparel! OKE Apparel was founded in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 2019.

  • #67 - I'm Just Sayin'

Zach is MIA off being an adult BUT Steve & Auzzie hold down the fort. The fellas quickly touch on the latest COVID news that included players from the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys testing positive. The NFL appears to be full steam ahead for a regular-season kick-off in a few months.

The guys wrap up their AFC reviews by taking a look at the AFC West which is shaping up to be a tightly contested division with the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs, the upstart Broncos, the revamped Chargers and the gritty Raiders. How do Steve & Auzzie see it shaking out? Well, you'll have to listen to the episode coward.

Finally, the guys touch on the tension between the CFLPA and CFL and the lack of communication from the ownership groups to the players.

  • #66 - Follow Your Dreams Like Chris Cuthbert

In this episode, the guys discuss the Dave Portnoy vs Roger Goodell feud that resulted in Portnoy's charity auction win of watching a Monday Night Football game with Roger Goodell being blocked by the league.

Next, a debate was sparked on the podcast when a late listener submission came in: Doc Rivers said Lebron James would be the NFL GOAT if he played football instead of basketball. Which side of the debate do you land on?

The guys then spend some time breaking down the AFC South and give their predictions for the upcoming season. Can the Titans build on what was an over-achieving season? How are the Jags going to manage with Gardner Minshew as their QB? Can the Colts trust Philip Rivers to take them over the hump? Did Bill O'Brien squander the Texans' chances at making a playoff run after trading DeAndre Hopkins?

In the Canadian Corner, there are some sad times as the CFL loses commentator Chris Cuthbert to Sportsnet where he will reportedly call NHL games.

    Thanks for listening!

  • #65 - Freezie Cold Takes

We're back to talk about the AFC North and how we see it shaking out. Are the Ravens destined to repeat as AFC North Champs? Can the Browns live up to expectations? Will the Bengals shock the world and can the Steelers return to form?

We also take a look at the CFL's proposed 8-game season and examine if it's the right call for the Grey Cup to be awarded to the participant with the best record.

Finally, we get in a (chilly) debate on what the best summer treat is, popsicle or freezie? This in turn morphed into a debate on if a creamsicle is a popsicle and well, you'll have to just listen to it unfold.

  • #64 - The Force is with Matt Nichols

This week, we were fortunate enough to sit down with former Winnipeg Blue Bomber and current Toronto Argonauts quarterback, Matt Nichols!

We discussed his journey to the CFL and when it became a reality for him to pursue football as a career. Matt also went into great detail on the adversity he's faced throughout his career from overcoming injuries in both Edmonton and Winnipeg to quarterback competitions he's battled through.

Lastly, Matt picks a receiver from the Argos he's most looking forward to finding a connection with and the all-important question, does ketchup belong on KD? Plenty more can be found in episode 64 of 3rd & Wrong!

The guys then delve into the AFC East and give their way-too-early predictions for the 2020 season.

In the Canadian Corner, Steve gives you your game day essentials when you attend your next CFL game. Then they finish up by giving their top 5 QBs for the upcoming season (the 2020 season IS happening).
