  • The Drama Behind the Fung Wah (or Fung Ahhhhh) Bus Line

    **Discussion begins at 5:55**

All aboard on this episode.  Come with us on this trip through wild tales, smelly buses, and political drama.  Join us for another listener request, as we discuss the secrecy behind Boston and New York City bus lines - specifically the history and drama of what was the Fung Wah, or should I say, the Fung "Ahhhhhh", as some of the passengers often did.  Fung Wah was a bus system that would transport people to and from Chinatown in New York City to Boston, that closed suddenly in 2015.  Today we are going to determine what happened to the buses after it’s closure.  Were they bought by the MBTA, repainted, and sent back onto the streets?  What really happened to Fung Wah?

  • The Conspiracy Theories Surrounding the Murder of JonBenet: Part II

    **Discussion begins at 4:40**

The JonBenet Ramsey murder is one of the most famous and tragic unsolved child murder cases in the United States.  JonBenet, a 6-year-old beauty queen, was found to be missing on the morning of December 26, 1996 in what appeared to be a kidnap for ransom.  Seven hours later, however, the young girl was found murdered in the basement of her 7,240 sq ft home.   Here is a brief sequence of event - JonBenet was carried in from a party on Christmas night and put to bed.  The following morning, her mother, Patsy, found a ransom note at the bottom of the stairs – demanding $118,000 for the safe return of JonBenet.  It was signed “a foreign faction”.   She noted her daughter was missing and called 911 at 5:52 AM on December 26. The ransom note was highly unusual: it was long, detailed, and written on paper from the Ramsey home. The note demanded a specific amount of money (which was nearly equivalent of John Ramsey's Christmas bonus) and instructed the parents not to contact the police.  The police, as well as friends of the Ramseys, descended on the house, mucking up the crime scene.  At one point, around 1PM, an detctive asks John and his friend to search the house – this being a tool to distract him and get him out of the way.  The duo descended downstairs, and in a back unfinished room, John Ramsey found his daughter dead with evidence of blunt force trauma to the head and strangulation.  He removed tape from her mouth and rushed her upstairs, again disturbing the crime scene.  Police officers then covered the young girls body with a blanket.  It took 12 hours for a coroner to arrive – their report stated that JonBenét had died from blunt force trauma to the head, with a fractured skull. She also had strangulation marks on her neck, consistent with being garrotted with a cord. The garotte was made of a paintbrush from Patsy Ramsey’s paint kit found in the same room.  There was no evidence of conventional rape, but evidence of vaginal trauma, likely from the paintbrush used in the garotte.  There was touch DNA belonging to an unknown male on her underwear, as well as under her nails – the DNA did not match anyone in the family or in the FBI database.  Initially, the police focused on the family as potential suspects. Both Patsy and John Ramsey, as well as their 9 year old son Burke were scrutinized. While they denied involvement, suspicion grew around them due to various inconsistencies in their accounts and the peculiar nature of the crime scene.  There was also speculation about an intruder, as there was evidence of open windows in the basement, which could suggest someone had entered the house, as well as 2 small marks on JonBenet consistent with a stun gun.  In 1999, a grand jury had voted to indict the Ramseys, but prosecutors chose not to pursue charges due to insufficient evidence.  Patsy Ramsey died in 2006 from ovarian cancer, and her death did not lead to any new breakthroughs in the case.  The Ramsey family was officially exonerated in 2008 but the case remains unsolved.  The investigation into her death remains open, and despite some advancements in forensic science, no one has been charged with the crime, leaving room for continued speculation and conspiracy theories.

  • Is Taylor Swift the Clone of the Heir to the Church of Satan?

    **Discussion begins at 10:30**

Taylor Alison Smith is an American singer-songwriter known for her narrative driven music and her poetic lyrics.  Her music style spans many genres from her country roots to pop, and even trying her hand at a more folky twang during her COVID era.  She was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania to Scott and Andrea Swift.  Her parents believed in her dream so much, that they uprooted the family to Nashville, Tennessee, where he rose to fame as a teenager with her self-titled debut album in 2006.  Since then, she has taken the music industry by storm and quickly has become one of the most dominant figures in history.   Taylor Swifts lyrics are often picked apart, digested, and analyzed by her loyal fan base who are devoted to putting the puzzle pieces together in her personal life.  Her poetic words often focus on her own experiences in love, friendships, relationships, and emotional growth.  Her ability to reinvent herself with each album has kept her relevant across different music scenes, and earned her the very popular theme of her current world tour, her Eras Tour.  But wait a second... Is Taylor really who she says she is?  Or could there be something sinister stewing underneath all of that charisma and fame?  Could she really be the clone of alleged illuminati member Zeena Lavey, who is the daughter of Anton Lacey who founded the Church of Satan in 1966?

  • The Conspiracy Behind Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

    **Discussion begins at 5:00**

Plastic was invented in the early 20th century, with the first synthetic plastic being created in 1907 by Belgian chemist Leo Baekeland. He developed Bakelite, the first fully synthetic plastic, which was a revolutionary material due to its ability to resist heat and electrical conductivity. Bakelite was initially used in electrical insulators, radios, and automotive parts.  Since that time, plastics have changed the world.  They are widely used in medical devices, and provide safe and sterile packaging for medical supplies, as well as extend the life of food and water.   It is cheap to produce, and more lightweight than older materials.  At the end of the 21st century there were mounting concerns about the environmental impact of plastic.  As a result, the general public was instructed to recycle and the idea that their discarded plastic was being reused, caused people to embrace the use of plastics.  I, for one, had the childhood chore of separating all of the recycling every Sunday night for pick up on Monday morning.  But what if I told you that 90% of plastics aren’t even being recycled and that this government project promoting recycling was all a business tool used by big oil companies to pad their pockets?

  • Squatch Watch: Is Big Foot Real?

    **Discussion begins at 5:00**

Bigfoot.  Sasquatch. Yeti. Skunk Ape.  Whatever name, we all grew up hearing stories of the mysterious large, hairy, bipedal creatures - creatures that have been spotted in every state in the United States and on almost every continent, yet their existence cannot be verified.  In the United States, Sasquatch sightings were first reported by Native Americansand persist today.  Are these creatures real?  What do we make of the photographs, video and audio recordings, hair samples, and tracks that have been observed and reported?  And if they are real, what are they?  Are they descendants of ancient apes?  Or are they an unclassified species of humans?

Disclaimer: There were some minor audio issues but the majority of the audio is good quality and we’re proud of the content, so we felt it was worth posting.  Please enjoy.

  • The Diddy Discussions: Part 2

    **Discussion begins at 4:00**

In September of 2024, P. Diddy was indicted by a federal grand jury in Manhattan and charged with racketeering, sex trafficking by force, transportation for purposes of prostitution, narcotics charges, arson, assault.   He was accused with creating “ a criminal enterprise in which he abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct".  He has obviously pled not guilty and has been denied bail, so he remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.  On October 1, 2024, the Washington Post reported that a team of lawyers will be filing as many as 120 more lawsuits, covering assaults that took place during the 2000s and 2010s.  There are 120 plaintiffs, 25 of whom were minors with the youngest being 9 years old.  They are both male and female, and half of the alleged victims say they reported the assault to police, to a doctor, or to the FBI.  There are apparently 3,000 abuse allegations, and over 100 additional cases being actively examined.  Prosecutors announced that there are more co-defendants to be named, and they said, "The names that we're going to name, assuming our investigators confirm and corroborate what we've been told, are names that will shock you.  I'm talking here about not just the cowardly but complicit bystanders, that is those people that we know watched this behavior occur and did nothing. And I'm talking about the people that participated, encouraged it, egged it on. They know who they are."
