Sean "Diddy" Combs is the 54 year old music mogul and entrepreneur, known for his record label Bad Boy Records which launched the careers of artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Mase, and Faith Evans, in addition to his own musical career.  Beyond music, Diddy has built a business empire that spans multiple industries, including fashion, television, spirits, and media. He's known for his influence on the hip-hop industry and is considered one of the wealthiest figures in the entertainment world.  In November 2023, his former partner, singer Cassie Ventura, filed a civil lawsuit accusing Diddy of rape, sex trafficking, and physical abuse over a ten-year period. The case was settled the following day, with details remaining confidential.  Subsequently, multiple individuals have come forward with similar allegations, including claims of drugging, sexual assault, coercion into non-consensual sexual activities, and the creation of non-consensual pornography. 

In September 2024, Diddy was arrested and indicted on federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The indictment alleges that Diddy utilized his business operations to facilitate these criminal activities, including forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and drug distribution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains in custody without bail.  We have been following the case and releasing updates as they come, so please go back and listen to our previous Diddy episodes.  Today, we are going to summarize the charges against Diddy up to this point, and discuss any other updates.

2020 will be a year that lives in infamy for our generation.  It is the year the workers were asked to stay home and children asked not to go to school.  It is the year that healthcare workers showing up to work in unprecedented times fighting a virus that they didn't know how to fight.  It is the year of "don't wear a mask and don't worry" to "wear a mask, wash your groceries, and oh my gosh - it could spread through your eyeballs".  It was a pivotal election year.  It was a year with protests and riots were rampant.  It is the year of fear, and hysteria, and TikTok popping off.  And all of that leads back to a pesky virus called SARS-COVID-2, or as people know it - COVID-19.  So where did this virus start?  Is there still controversy over the origin story?  What does the trail of money say?  And mostly, was the government just covering up a huge, colossal mistake?  Let's travel back in time to revisit the story of COVID-19.  Don't worry, no mask is required while listening to this podcast.

Gabby Petito was born and raised in Blue Point, New York and was the oldest of 7 children in a blended family.  While attending Bayport Blue Point High School, she met Brian Laundrie.  After graduating in 2017, they reconnected and began dating in 2019.  Eventually, they decided to move to Northpoint, Fl to live with Brian's parents.  In 2020 they got engaged, and Gabby purchased a Ford Transit Connect - which the couple converted into a sleeper van.  On July 2, 2021 they set off from New York on a 4 month roadtrip through national parks.  Gabby was hoping to take off as a content creator, and was vlogging the journey on her YouTube and Instagram accounts about #vanlife.  On August 12, 2021 police responded to a 911 call in Moab, Utah. The caller had reported seeing a man attacking a girl in a van driving by.  The couple was separated and the police felt that Brian was the victim and no charges were pressed.  They sent him to a domestic abuse hotel for the night, and she stayed in the van. The couple then proceeded on their trip. On August 25 Gabby made a final post to Instagram and then stopped responding to texts or phone calls.  On September 11, Gabby's mother filed a missing persons report in Suffolk County, NY.  When police went to the Laundries as part of a wellness check, they learned that Brian had returned home in Gabby’s van, without her.  But the Laundries had already hired an attorney and refused to cooperate with the police investigation.  The investigation let them to Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, where Gabby's phone was last used.  On September 19, 3 weeks after the investigation had begun, her body was found in the park.  After the discovery of her body, a search warrant was issued on the Laundrie home, and it is then that we learn Brian Laundrie had disappeared days prior, last seen going on a hike.  A month later, on October 20, Brian Laundrie’s parents discover his body in Carlton Reserve, a nature preserve near their home.  With him, they find a backpack that contains a journal with a partial confession – Brian claimed that he had killed Gabby, but only because she had a freak accident and was suffering and asked him to put her out of his misery.  The coroner eventually ruled Brian Laundrie’s cause of death to be suicide by GSW.  However, a number of inconsistencies in the crime scene, and his parent’s unwillingness to assist in the search for Gabby Petito, have led many online to speculate that Brian Laundrie is not actually dead, and that his parents helped him fake his death to cover it up.

Today, we are deep diving into one of the most mysterious theories of the 21st century: The Dead Internet Theory.  With the growing influence of AI, many people believe that the internet is slowly dying – not in a technical sense, but in terms of human interaction and creativity.  Have we reached the inversion point?  This is the point at which point the platforms have shifted from human creator driven to a system where bots, algorithms, or even AI tools are the ones responsible for generating the majority of content.  In their pursuit of profitability and user engagement, did platforms begin to rely too much on algorithms to curate content, automate interactions, and even generate videos based on trends?  Is the internet, as we know it, already dead, or is it merely transitioning into something unrecognizable?

World War II was a global conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945, involving the Allies (primarily the U.S, UK, and Soviet Union) fighting against the Axis powers, led by Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and Fascist Italy. The war resulted in massive destruction, the Holocaust, and the reshaping of international power dynamics, ultimately leading to the formation of the United Nations and the beginning of the Cold War.  During the war, the Nazis looted vast amounts of wealth, including gold, art, jewelry, and other precious materials. Much of the gold came from the central banks of occupied countries, particularly Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Poland. They also seized gold from Jewish families, including rings, teeth fillings, and other personal items.  As Germany faced inevitable defeat, high-ranking Nazi officials began to move large amounts of this looted wealth, including gold, out of sight. There were reports that huge amounts of gold were secretly stored in vaults, and some Nazi leaders began transferring the gold to places like Switzerland, where neutral banks could hold it safely.  There are also theories that gold was hidden in underground bunkers, caves, or remote locations across Europe, either to be recovered later or to be kept out of the hands of the Allies.  What do we know about the Nazi Gold, and is there more still out there?

Today we are discussing the mysterious death of a Jane Doe, known under the alias of Jennifer Fairgate.  In June 1995, she checked into the Oslo Plaza, a 5 star hotel in Norway.  She checked in to the hotel using the alias, paid all cash, and was found dead in her hotel room several days after checking in with a GSW to the head.  The cirucmstances were unusual.  Her identity remains unknown, authorities were unable to find any records for a person with the name Jennifer Fairgate, and there are no credible traces of her existence before she appeared at the hotel.  Her death was ruled a suicide, but the gunshot wound was found to be inconsistent with the normal pattern of a suicide.  Despite many years of investigation, Jennifer Fairgate’s identity remains unknown, and the true circumstances of her death have never been solved. The case has become a haunting mystery, with many questions but no answers.  The lack of conclusive evidence about her identity or the reasons behind her death makes it one of the most enduring mysteries in Norway.  Was it really suicide, as the police ruled?  Was she an undercover agent, possibly from a foreign intelligence agency, whose death was meant to remain shrouded in secrecy.  Or was she involved in some sort of illegal activity, perhaps as a witness, victim, or even a criminal herself?

The National Football League is an American football league composed of 32 teams, representing a multitude of states and cities.  It was founded in 1920, originally named the American Professional Football Association, but was quickly renamed to the NFL that we know it as now.  Original seasons run form September to early January, with each team playing 17 games with 1 bye week.  Mid-January starts playoffs which is a single elimination tournament for the ultimate goal of winning it all in the Super Bowl.  Last year we covered some conspiracy theories about if the games were rigged and staged.  This year we are going to cover some smaller theories that you may not know of.

On November 24, 1971, the day before Thanksgiving, an unidentified man carrying a black attache case approached the Nothwest Orient Airlines desk at the Portland airport and paid cash for a one way ticket to Seattle.  The ticket was sold to “Dan Cooper” and non-descript white male in his mid 40s with brown hair, brown eyes, dressed in a business suit and black raincoat.  He boarded the Boeing 727, sat in the last row, and ordered a bourbon and 7-UP.  He then passed a note to the flight attendant indicating that he had an explosive device and demanding $200,000 ransom, (the equivalent of $1.5 million today) as well as two from and two back parachutes.  When the plane landed in Seattle, he collected the money and parachutes, allowed the 36 passengers to deplane, and instructed the crew to refuel and proceed to Mexico City via Reno, NV.  About 30 mins after takeoff from Seattle, at approximately 8:13 p.m., evidence suggests that DB Cooper jumped from the aft stairwell, near the suburbs north of Portland.  This remains the only unsolved act of air piracy in US history.  Who was DB Cooper, and did he survive the dangerous jump?
