On July 6, 2019, Chance Englebert went missing. He was last seen on surveillance video, confirming Chance walked north on 10th Street and then cut west through Terrytown. His cell phone last pinged near a tower by Western Travel Terminal, and an incoherent text message was the last anybody had seen or heard from him.

Ruth Marie Terry (September 8, 1936 – c. July 1974), also known as Lady of the Dunes, was a formerly unidentified murder victim found on July 26, 1974, in the Race Point Dunes in Provincetown, Massachusetts, United States. Her body was exhumed in 1980, 2000, and 2013[5] in efforts to identify her.  On October 31, 2022, the FBI field office in Boston announced that Terry had been officially identified.  As of August 28, 2023 her husband Guy Muldavin has been officially named as Terry's killer.

On February 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams (June 23, 2003 – February 13, 2017) and Liberty German(December 27, 2002 – February 13, 2017) were discovered near the Monon High Bridge Trail, part of the Delphi Historic Trails in Delphi, Indiana, U.S., after the girls had disappeared from that trail the previous day. The murders have received extensive media coverage, including reports that video and audio recordings of an individual believed to be their killer were found on German's smartphone.[2][3][4]

On October 26, 2022, a suspect was taken into custody,[5] and, on October 31, that suspect was charged with two counts of murder.[6] Time described the arrest as "the first major break in a case that has captivated national attention for nearly six years."[7]

Larry Dewayne Hall is an American murderer, rapist, and convicted serial killer who stalked and murdered numerous girls and women between the early-1980s and early-1990s.

Hall is currently serving his life sentence at a medium-security federal prison in Butner, North Carolina.
