(Mark 5:1–20)
Episode Description:
In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we dive into one of the most intense and powerful moments in the Gospel of Mark — Mark 5:1–20. Jesus steps into Gentile territory and meets a man completely controlled by demons, living among tombs, isolated, violent, and hopeless. But one encounter with Jesus Christ changes everything.
We talk about:
What it means that Jesus has authority over darkness
Why the demons recognized Jesus when others didn’t
How sin isolates and enslaves
Why the townspeople were more afraid of Jesus than the demoniac
What it means to move from being delivered to being sent
The man who once lived in the tombs becomes a missionary to the Decapolis. His past didn’t disqualify him — it became his testimony.
This episode challenges students to ask:
What chains is Jesus calling you out of?
Are you sitting at His feet — or asking Him to leave?
Who needs to hear what He has done for you?
Key Theme: No one is too far gone. Jesus still sets captives free.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear…” – 2 Timothy 1:7
412 Students — living out 1 Timothy 4:12.
In this episode, we walk through Mark 4:35–41, where Jesus calms the storm on the Sea of Galilee. As the disciples battle fear and exhaustion, Jesus sleeps—until He is awakened and speaks peace into the chaos with a word. This passage reveals not only Christ’s authority over creation, but also exposes the hearts of His followers. The storm outside mirrors the storm within, and Jesus’ gentle rebuke calls His disciples—and us—to deeper faith and trust. Ultimately, this text confronts us with the question that echoes across the boat: “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
This episode encourages believers to trust Christ’s sovereign power, even when He seems silent, and to rest in the assurance that the Lord of the storm is present in the boat.
In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we explore Mark 4:26–34, where Jesus teaches through the parables of the growing seed and the mustard seed. These parables remind us that God is the one who brings spiritual growth—often quietly, patiently, and in ways we don’t immediately see.
Students are encouraged to trust God’s work in their lives and in His kingdom. Even small acts of faith and obedience, when placed in God’s hands, are used for His great purposes. The kingdom of God may begin small, but it grows by God’s power and according to His perfect plan.
Key themes include:
God as the source of spiritual growth
Trusting God’s timing and unseen work
Faithfulness in small things
The unstoppable growth of God’s kingdom

🌱 A call to faithful obedience, patient trust, and confidence in God’s sovereign work
In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we study Mark 4:21–25, where Jesus teaches about the purpose of light and the responsibility of those who hear His Word. The truth of the gospel is not meant to be hidden but revealed, shining clearly in the lives of those who belong to Christ.
Jesus warns us to “pay attention to what you hear,” reminding students that how we listen to God’s Word matters. Faithful hearing leads to spiritual growth and greater understanding, while careless listening results in loss.
In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we walk through Jesus’ explanation of the Parable of the Sower in Mark 4:13–20. Jesus reveals how the condition of the heart determines how God’s Word is received—whether it is quickly taken away, shallowly embraced, slowly choked out, or faithfully received and bearing fruit.
Students are challenged to examine their own hearts: Are we merely hearing the Word, or are we truly receiving it with faith and perseverance? This teaching calls us to cultivate hearts that are rooted in Christ, steadfast through trials, and fruitful for the glory of God.

From James 4:13–14, students are confronted with the brevity of life; through Ephesians 2:4–10, they see God’s mercy and grace bringing us from death to life; and in John 10:10, they discover the promise of true, abundant life found only in Jesus.
