Welcome to the 412 Students Podcast! In this episode, we explore Gospel of Mark 9:1–13 and the incredible moment known as the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. On the mountain, Jesus reveals His glory before Peter the Apostle, James the Apostle, and John the Apostle, showing that He is far greater than a prophet or teacher—He is the Son of God.

We’ll talk about why the appearance of Moses and Elijah matters, what God meant when He said, “Listen to Him,” and how this passage strengthens our faith in who Jesus truly is. We’ll also discuss how the disciples struggled to understand Jesus’ mission and resurrection, just like many people do today.

“Do you not yet understand?” — Mark 8:21

“ He has done all things well.” — Mark 7:37

In this episode, we examine the sobering moment when Judas Iscariot agrees to betray Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver and later carries out that betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane. In Gospel of Matthew 26:14–16 and 47–50, Judas moves from secret agreement with the chief priests to the chilling act of identifying Jesus with a kiss.

This passage highlights the depth of human sin, the tragic reality of betrayal, and the sovereign plan of God unfolding even in the darkest moment. While Judas acts out of greed and hardened unbelief, Jesus responds with calm authority and even addresses him as “friend,” showing His willingness to submit to the Father’s will.

In this episode, we dive into Mark 7:1–23, where Jesus confronts the Pharisees and scribes over their obsession with outward religious traditions. When they accuse His disciples of eating with “unclean hands,” Jesus exposes the deeper problem: a heart that is far from God.

Quoting Book of Isaiah, Jesus declares that empty traditions can replace genuine worship. He challenges the religious leaders for elevating human rules above God’s Word and calls His listeners to understand that true defilement does not come from external things, but from the sinful condition of the human heart.

In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we dive into Mark 6:45–56 and witness Jesus walking on water—revealing His authority over creation and His presence in the middle of life’s storms.

As the disciples struggle against the wind, Jesus comes to them in a way they don’t expect. Instead of recognizing Him, they are terrified. Why? Because their hearts were hardened—they had just seen the miracle of the loaves, yet they still didn’t fully understand who He was.

We unpack how easy it is to miss Jesus, even when He’s right in front of us. Like the disciples, we can experience His work but still fail to truly know Him. But in the middle of fear, Jesus speaks clearly: “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”

This episode challenges students to consider:
Are you recognizing Jesus in your life, or missing Him?
Is your heart soft and responsive, or slowly becoming hardened?

We also see the contrast as people in Gennesaret respond with faith—running to Jesus, bringing the sick, and believing even touching His garment could heal. The difference? They didn’t just see Jesus—they trusted Him.

In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we explore the powerful story of Jesus feeding the five thousand in Mark 6:33–44. What begins as a problem of scarcity becomes a powerful display of Christ’s compassion and provision.

The disciples saw a crowd and a lack of resources—but Jesus saw an opportunity to shepherd people and reveal His power. With just five loaves and two fish, He provides more than enough for everyone, leaving no one empty.

In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we step into one of the most intense and sobering passages in the Gospel of Mark—Mark 6:14–32. The story of John the Baptist’s death forces us to wrestle with a hard question: What does it cost to stand for truth?

We explore the guilt and fear of King Herod, the boldness of John the Baptist, and the tragic consequences of a compromised life. John spoke truth without fear, even when it meant confronting power—and it ultimately cost him his life. Meanwhile, Herod heard the truth, was intrigued by it, but refused to fully submit to it.

This episode challenges students to think deeply:
Are you just interested in truth, or are you committed to it?
Do you stand firm when it’s hard, or shrink back when it costs you something?

We also reflect on the disciples returning from ministry, showing us that while the mission is powerful, it can also be costly. Following Jesus isn’t always easy—but it is always worth it.
