SkyFire Energy, one of Alberta's oldest solar companies, just acquired Hakai Energy Solutions, diversifying its markets into Coastal British Columbia. The move also adds battery storage expertise and off-grid experience to their offerings.The move comes as utility-scale solar in Alberta has collapsed under the weight of a moratorium, policies hostile to large-scale renewables, and high levels of market uncertainty. At 25 years old, SkyFire is used to the ups and downs of the industry and has, from day one, focused on a diversified focus on home, commercial, and utility-scale solar.
