In the wake of the violence at the Hanukkah gathering in Bondi, and its proximity to my home and people close to me, it felt important to speak directly and calmly about what happens in the body during moments of shock and collective trauma.

Events like this do not only live in headlines or memory. They are processed through the nervous system, and often show up later as anxiety, disrupted sleep, digestive symptoms, emotional reactivity, or a persistent feeling of being unsettled.

This episode is offered as a steady, nervous-system-informed response. It is not political commentary. It is an acknowledgement of impact and a reminder of how to care for ourselves and each other when safety feels disrupted.
