I’m excited about this episode because it is our FIRST holiday season on the podcast so this is our first ever holiday themed episode!
In this episode I teach 4 steps to teach students winter holidays from around the world. I discuss all the different ways people celebrate Christmas and winter holidays around the world. I believe teaching holidays around the world is important because it offers our students a chance to think learn about diversity and gain an appreciation for holidays and traditions. In this podcast, I cover everything from Christmas in Germany to Chinese New Year to Diwali, Hanukkah and more!
Along with learning more about how different cultures celebrate Christmas and winter holidays, I discuss how teaching our students about these different traditions expands their world view and offers a great way to integrate reading, research, social studies, AND holidays all-in-one.
I discuss how teaching these holiday traditions to students is the perfect opportunity for them to research, collaborate and exercise team work skills by presenting what they have learned. Learning more about the world is so beneficial to ourselves and our students in so many different ways and we dive into it all on our very first Holiday themed episode with 4 SIMPLE steps to teach winter holidays around the world!
