Did you know that women are different to men? You've probably noticed alright, but what you may not know is we are not just smaller men when it comes to training for performance in sport. Our cycles dictate everything from when it is best to push for higher targets all the way to what we should be eating to fuel those workouts.
Today I speak to Cathy Kolbohn. Cathy is a nutritionist with the fitclinic and also has a background in sports science. We talk about the considerations women need to take when it comes to fueling and training around their cycles, how easing off during what she calls 'weak week' is important and how eating more can make a big difference
We also talk a bit at the start about an autoimmune diesease she suffers from called hashimoto's. This affects her thyroid and we discuss the things she did to help manage it without relying on medication.
Really informative episode for women who both train for performance and who train just for bodycompostiion!
for more information on working with the fitclinic or any of their nutrition coaches you can find them
