This week on Sharing Wisdom, Mike Sjogren shares his journey from being a CPA to building a successful business in the short-term rental community. 

He started with a small two-bedroom condo and scaled his business by finding property owners who didn't have time to manage their properties and offering to run everything for them. Mike emphasizes the importance of clarity and self-image in achieving success. 

Mike's story highlights the power of mindset and perseverance in building a thriving business. He emphasizes the need to take imperfect action, overcome fear of rejection, and detach from results. He admits that the concept of work-life balance and how it is an illusion, and instead  emphasizes the importance of understanding the season you are in and being intentional with your time and priorities. 

Mike also shares his non-negotiables, such as self-care and family time. He then dives into the topic of short-term rentals and explains the different ways to get involved, including buying properties, renting and re-renting, and co-hosting. 

He highlights the benefits of co-hosting and how it can be a faster path to building a portfolio. Mike concludes by offering three key takeaways: knowing what you want, having a mentor, and being comfortable with discomfort.
