The San Francisco 49ers are 4-0!
The 49ers defeated the Denver Broncos 24-14 in a hard-fought Week 4 matchup at Levi's Stadium, and we break down EVERYTHING from San Francisco's latest win.
Brock Purdy threw two second-half touchdown passes, Christian McCaffrey scored a touchdown, Deebo Samuel found the end zone, and George Kittle delivered the game-sealing 56-yard touchdown as the 49ers pulled away in the second half.
But this game was far from perfect.
The 49ers' offense was stuck in the mud for much of the first half, struggled badly in short-yardage situations, and could not find much vertical success against Denver's defense. San Francisco even turned the ball over on downs at the Denver 35-yard line and had a field goal blocked before halftime.
So what changed?
We break down how Brock Purdy and the 49ers offense finally found their rhythm, Christian McCaffrey's impact, Deebo Samuel's touchdown, George Kittle's massive game-sealing play, and the biggest adjustments Kyle Shanahan made.
We also dive into the 49ers defense and how Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, Upton Stout, Siran Neal, and the rest of the defense helped San Francisco survive Denver's rushing attack.
Plus:
• Was Kyle Shanahan right to call the QB sneak on 4th-and-1?
• Why did the 49ers struggle so much in short-yardage situations?
• Is San Francisco relying too heavily on Christian McCaffrey?
• What went wrong against RJ Harvey and Denver's screen game?
• Brock Purdy's second-half turnaround
• Deebo Samuel's impact on the offense
• George Kittle's 56-yard touchdown
• Mike Evans' continued importance
• The 49ers' red-zone struggles against Denver
• What the 4-0 start says about San Francisco
• Are the 49ers the team to beat in the NFC West?
The 49ers are undefeated and sitting atop the NFC West. But after a 24-14 win over Denver, there are still plenty of questions to answer.

The San Francisco 49ers are 3-0, but is the Denver Broncos matchup their biggest test of the 2026 NFL season?
On this episode of 49ers Access, we preview the 49ers vs. Broncos Week 4 matchup and break down the biggest storylines, matchups and keys to victory for San Francisco.
The Broncos enter Week 4 at 2-1, but their offense has struggled to find consistency. Bo Nix has a 4-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio, has been sacked five times and has struggled to generate consistent momentum. Denver also ranks near the bottom of the NFL in rushing efficiency, putting even more pressure on Nix and the Broncos defense.
Can Nick Bosa, the 49ers defensive line and San Francisco’s pass rush make Nix uncomfortable?
On the other side of the ball, Denver’s run defense has been a major weakness. The Broncos are allowing 5.1 yards per carry and 143.7 rushing yards per game. That could create a major opportunity for Kyle Shanahan, Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers rushing attack.
We also discuss:
• Is Denver the 49ers’ biggest test yet?
• Brock Purdy vs. the Broncos defense
• Can Christian McCaffrey and the 49ers run game dominate?
• How San Francisco can attack Denver’s struggling run defense
• Kyle Shanahan vs. Vance Joseph
• The 49ers’ offensive line vs. Nick Bonitto and Zach Allen
• How San Francisco replaces Mike Evans
• Brock Purdy attacking Denver underneath
• Patrick Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga
• George Kittle and the Broncos’ struggles against tight ends
• Why pressuring Bo Nix could determine the game
• Denver’s strange first-half vs. second-half offensive splits
• The biggest keys to a 49ers victory
• Our predictions for 49ers vs. Broncos Week 4
