The man responsible for making the 2002 Bali bombs, Umar Patek, is using the tragedy to promote a new business venture.

Umar Patek was released early from his 20-year sentence on the basis of 'good behaviour' despite being responsible for the death of over 200 people, including 88 Australians.

Peter Fegan has commented, saying, "This has to be without doubt one of the most sickening things I have ever witnessed."

Queensland registration fees are about to increase by 3.4 per cent in the new financial year, which is above Brisbane's current CPI rate of just over 2.5 per cent.

Queensland Shadow Treasurer Shannon Fentiman told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "I can't believe not only have they cut the 20% discount for rego, as you've said, they've actually slugged us with a 3.4% increase, which is more than inflation."

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will finally meet face-to-face with Donald Trump later this month, and one of the big talking points will be Australia's ambassador to the US, Kevin Rudd.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has called for Kevin Rudd to be removed as the US Ambassador. Joyce told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "We don't care how upset Mr. Rudd is, it's irrelevant."

"He can go to another diplomatic post, he can go to London or France or Canada, the world's a big place," Mr Joyce said.

A private Jewish event in Fortitude Valley was 'gatecrashed' over the weekend.

Members of the Jewish community attended a private function at The Wickham to celebrate the Jewish holiday Shavuot while protestors chanted outside.

Former Greens Councillor Jonathan Sriranganathan told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "I think it is perfectly legitimate and acceptable for people to peacefully protest on a street outside a venue that is holding a Zionist event."

The Clean Energy Council released its first quarter report mid last week.

It shows significant momentum for big battery and storage projects across the country and the level of investment is the most since the final quarter of 2023 which holds the record of $2.8 billion.

Clean Energy Council Spokesman and former broadcaster Chris O'Keefe told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "The batteries do work in South Australia, they have worked in South Australia for the best part of a decade."

"There's been you know heat waves and storms that that battery has managed to ensure that the lights have been kept on for South Australians and yes coal's done a wonderful job for Australia over a really long period of time but it's getting old," Mr O'Keefe said.

The latest PropTrack Home Price Index has revealed that Brisbane’s median house price has reach $998,000.

The data has shown that the main reasons for the increase are labour shortages, supply chain disruptions and soaring prices for essential materials.

Housing Industry Association Managing Director Jocelyn Martin told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "The problem is we build 160, 170,000 new homes in Australia every year."

"If we were actually really going to make a difference in terms of our approach to building and housing and climate, it would be the 11 million other homes that we really should be looking at."

"We're getting a diminishing return from that National Construction Code and the seven star [rating]," Mrs Martin said.
