Brisbane bus drivers plan to strike from 4am to 6am on Thursday February 20 as a part of their ongoing pay dispute with the Brisbane City Council.

Rail Tram and Bus Union Secretary Tom Brown told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "I'm happy to meet in the middle during negotiations."

"The sticking point, the point of anger for our drivers, is that the pay rise is not being backdated."

"It should have come through in October last year and they're not offering to backdate it until then," Mr. Brown said.

The RBA board has officially cut the cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.10 per cent.

The Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "It means that millions of Australians will get the rate relief that they need and deserve after all

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released the changes to the 2026 census which includes questions about sexual orientation and gender for people aged 16 years and over in addition to an existing question about the respondent’s 'sex recorded at birth.'

The census will introduce non-gendered terms to describe household and family relationships as well.

Six people have been hit by a car that crashed after allegedly doing a burnout near Cessnock NSW. 

Police allege that the 18-year-old driver lost control of the car and then crashed into two parked cars before hitting onlookers.
