A $1.3 billion wind farm is being built in Central Queensland’s Connors Range, which is home to some of the most ecologically significant populations of koalas and Greater Gliders.

Photographer and conservationist Steven Nowakowski recently visited the Lotus Creek Wind Farm and shared some pretty confronting images.

Mr Nowakowski told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "That's why I've been photographing places like Lotus Creek to try to show city folk what is really involved with the construction of these wind towers in Queensland and other parts of Australia.

"I think if Australians really saw what was going on in regional Australia with the rollout of renewables, they would be gobsmacked and horrified because we are seeing so much devastation and clearing and destruction of what is left of our refugia forests, of our remnant forests," Mr Nowakowski continued.

The Queensland Attorney-General has instructed the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to appeal against a sentence handed down in the Children’s Court of Queensland on March 13, 2025. 

In 2023, Chris Sanders was attacked at the Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre by a group of teens. 

Mr Sanders told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "Fantastic news, I was lost for words this morning when she was talking to me, so I just said to her, thanks very much for doing what you can do."

"This judge needs to rethink what he's done, especially to turn around and record. No criminal conviction recorded; tat's been the biggest thing that's crossed my mind," Mr Sanders continued.

Over the weekend, Premier David Crisafulli added 12 more offences to Adult Crime, Adult Time, and another offence was added today. 

There are 33 youth offences in Adult Crime, Adult Time, following recommendations from the Expert Legal Panel.

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Integrity Deb Frecklington told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "This is the next major step in doing exactly what we said we would do, which is to restore community safety."

"We were elected by the majority to fix up the Labor's youth crime crisis... The now Premier Crisafulli, took to the election a suite of offences, which was our first tranche."

"Then we always said there'd be more to come, and that's exactly what we're delivering," Attorney-General Frecklington continued.

"I think what they're expecting to do is have the policies that relate to them, and that's really the key," Mr Mercer continued.

A cheerleading gym in Logan is going international, with the team set to compete in the Global Games in Hawaii.

Infinity Athletics started as a small club in a rented gym and has exploded into a 250-athlete powerhouse with a second gym space. 

Owner of Infinity Athletics Lauren Erickson told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "We started in a rented gym, and we've grown slowly but surely and really focusing on the grassroots, with the little kids and then developing them from being little, three, four, five, six year olds into now, athletes that are going international' to Hawaii."

"We're really proud that they've had the journey that they've had from the beginning with us starting all the way in beginners, and now they're elite athletes heading international, which is so exciting as a coach," Ms Erickson continued.

Graziers in outback Queensland are dealing with stock losses and devastation after widespread flooding. 

Large parts of the Outback have been left underwater as record-breaking rain swept through western Queensland. 

AgForce General President Shane McCarthy told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "I'm hearing anywhere from 100% losses for some producers, 80% losses for some producers."

"We work on such a small margin that any losses is going to be impacted to those producers, and the flow on effects through the whole production line through to the supermarkets."

"It's supply and demand and the price of those are of the remaining stock will go up," Mr McCarthy continued.

Over the weekend, it was announced that the state government will add 12 more offences to the Adult Crime, Adult Time.

The new offences will include rape, attempted murder, aggravated attempted robbery, torture, and arson.

Voice for Victims spokesperson Trudy Reading told Gary Hardgrave on 4BC Drive, "You can add as many crimes as you like."

"But it has to be backed up by the judiciary, we need to make sure that we're seeing the judiciary, the judges follow through and meet community expectations as to how long we feel these kids need to be away for," Ms Reading continued.
