A bold new vision has been put forward to transform Mt Coot-tha and its surrounds ahead of Brisbane's moment in the global spotlight at the 2032 Olympics and it all centres around eco-tourism.

Founding Director of Suburban Futures Ross Elliott told Bill McDonald on 4BC Afternoons, "I can't think of a city certainly in this country, where you've got such a large natural asset, so close to a very large population."

The United States has announced a review into the AUKUS sub deal to align it with Donald Trump’s America First approach. 

Founder of Strategic Analysis Australia, Michael Shoebridge told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "It's hard to know just what Trump will demand and what he'll take from it."

"That's one of the tenuous things in the relationship at the moment, that it's unpredictable with Donald Trump and the administration."

The State Opposition alleges that amendments made yesterday to the Transport Infrastructure Act will make it easier to slap motorists with higher tolls.

Council Opposition leader Jared Cassidy told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "What [the amendments] essentially do is make it easier for the minister to increase tolls on existing toll roads."

"But also [it says they're improving the effectiveness and efficiency in declaring tolls, so putting new tolls on."

An Australian not-for-profit is shining a light on mental health and wellbeing support for first responders.

Fortem Australia spokesperson Gary Sanderfield told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "It's important that we as a community come together and support [first responders], because every day we're carrying on about our lives and having no sense that they're even out there."

 "They're out there putting their lives on the line and dealing with traumatic events day in and day out," Sanderfield continued.
