Another episode, on this one I discuss how police need to join civilians in the quest for a socially just country, by looking at the police complex history and it is effect in the so called '3rd world countries' when it comes to willingness to demonstrate for better social conditions.
Protest and activism are demeaned in Kenya and arguably show the economical class difference in the country, yet it is a constitutional right to assemble and demonstrate. In addition, protests through out history have been a source of societal transformation.
In this episode I discuss Protests and activism and a call of action across all classes to use this tool to achieve better living conditions rather than destruction and division.
A long the way, something kind of clicks and your dreams shift from you. Either you outgrow them and in many cases it just happens more is needed from you to get that dream, mostly economically but also socially.
"I think even more beautiful is if we say we are gonna make this a world where it is possible to dream and it is possible to achieve your dream" ~Ann
The personal is political a quote that has been used in challenging the political structures over time but also a quote I first heard from Angela Davis.
This episode reminds us that everything is political, politics are in play in our most personal circumstances and they matter because they affect everyone, we are all going through something or know someone experiencing something and to be honest the solutions lie in a more just political environment.
An ode to African leaders, to go back to the people, the fight for power is a fight we lost a while back, the strength to be a truly holistic developed continent lies with returning to the African people, centering the solutions on the African person.
There is a wave of change & new possibilities, more conversations on the continent options are happening though our politicians are still disappointing w the reliance on the masters model, do we have to exploit to develop or can we regenerate and develop consciously?
Tune in and let me know your thoughts
It is a Poetisode!;) My attempt at spoken word, I awe at the intensity of words everytime. Yes, i am those who want to know why you said what you said and why those words. So here is an expression of Madaraka day for me, an expression for my thirst for freedom, for a better254. Because when are we gonna say it is Madaraka day or real? Tune in
Welcome to this episode! where everyone needs money. I touch on the idea of money as a core being in our systems and how lack of it has led to the recent protests on the cost living and also the government investments plans. Give it a listen and let us discuss on Instagram @4better254.
This episode is a little joy that honors the black history month which is not a common practice in Kenya and African countries, but I think with times changing it is important for Africans in the continent to reconnect with their history as their superpower. Enjoy listening and share more of the history you know or enjoy.
