4Player Podcast

A new era has begun. This week marks our first podcast recording from our new location at Nolan's house! We may not have much in the way of impressions to discuss this week but we opted instead to open up the floor to our live audience to ask us questions and steer the conversation. As one might imagine, the discussion goes to some interesting places that we think you might enjoy! In the 2nd segment we tackle the recent announcement of the SNES Classic from Nintendo and a major departure from Arkane studios.

We are back from E3 and ready to play some games! This week is our last podcast in our current recording space so we crack open a few beers to celebrate! Brad brings Nex Machina to the table which delivers a stellar visual spectacle. Nick tries his best to talk about his time with Nier Automata, and Carlos even joins us to talk about the latest DLC for Darkest Dungeon. E3 may be over but there is plenty to discuss in the news thanks to the outrageous E3 demonstration of Beyond Good & Evil 2.

The last day of E3 2017 was memorable to say the least. Not only did we have one of our best E3 community meetups ever, we got a closer look at some big games like Epic's Fortnite, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, and an Indie RPG coming to Microsoft platforms called Ashen. We also got a close look at a surprisingly robust lineup from Focus Home Interactive including Call of Cthulu, A Plague Tale, and Vampyr!

The 2nd day of E3 2017 has wrapped and we got a good look at some of the biggest upcoming releases including Super Mario Odyssey, State of Decay 2, and Assassin's Creed Origins! We also had appointments with games like Mount and Blade 2 and Crackdown 3 which show promise! Overall, it was a big day but there is still one more day on the show floor...

Nintendo brought the press conference portion of E3 2017 to a close with some surprise announcements including not one, but TWO Metroid games spanning both the Switch and 3DS! On the show floor, we checked out all of the Sony theater presentations including more detailed looks at Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Monster Hunter World, and Days Gone. We also got a look at Namco Bandai's E3 lineup featuring Ni No Kuni 2, Dragonball Fighterz, and Ace Combat 7 (in VR!).

On the last full day of E3 conferences, Ubisoft and Sony delivered impressive line ups including the surprise re-reveal of Beyond Good and Evil 2 and an impressive demonstration of the highly anticipated Spiderman game from Insomniac! While the shows may be short on surprise announcements, there is plenty to unpack and plenty to be excited about as we head into the 2018 and beyond!

Our first full day in Los Angeles is complete and we look back on the announcements coming out of the first 3 big conferences of the show: EA, Microsoft, and Bethesda! While EA and Bethesda had a couple high profile announcements, they delivered some rather disappointing lineups. With that said, Microsoft came to E3 with a slew of new games to talk about along with new hardware with a confusing and mildly hilarious name.
