Ripped out of the pages of the latest issue of 5 Mag: Moppy is a DJ who has lived in Chicago and Detroit and earned the respect of the scene in both. He's been part of DJ collectives (Boogie Munsters), production supergroups (Beyond Luck) and has polished his solo productions until they shine.

In the latest issue of 5 Mag - http://bit.ly/2Fgwxwz - we talk to Moppy for The Culture, our series of interviews talking to DJs about the culture of DJing itself. And he also made for us another installment in our 5 Mag Mix series.

Next up in @5magazine mix series is the extremely talented producer from Australia named H.I.M.W.O.L. Although he had been playing around with production since the ’90s, it was in 2009 that people started to take notice, with releases under such distinguished labels as Peppermint Jam, King Street Sounds, Defected and Quantize Records.

H.I.M.W.O.L just released an album on DJ Spen's Unquantize label entitled House is My Way of Life.

Belgium’s Bart Ricardo is no stranger to Chicago's house music scene, having spun next to some of its biggest hometown heroes such as Derrick Carter, Gene Farris, Green Velvet, Roy Davis Jr. as well as coming here annually to play.

Bart is currently in the US and playing at Smartbar in Chicago tonight for T. Mixwell's Soapbox Social. This exclusive mix for 5 Magazine was from a live set recorded three weeks ago at Brett Johnson’s party in Austin.

Showcasing the sounds of the industrial heartland since 1996, Anode Records' Ron S. steps behind the decks for our latest 5 Mag Mix.

I've known about Ron S. for probably as long as I've known about techno. The DJ and producer founded Anode Recordings ("the first techno music label from St. Louis," and I can't think of a predecessor either) in 1996. He's also released music on 314Techno, Deep Taste, Three Dot House, Sweep the Floor, Demiurge, Krunch Audio, Gibbon Records, UKR, Konfused Konfliction, AcidWorx and more.

Ron has a flair for making the kind of techno that puts me in my happy place - clean, glistening, pulsating, hypnotic. And I'm thrilled to present our latest 5 Mag Mix from him.
