MGD label owner and Chicago DJ/Producer Doc Link mixes A 5 Mag Mix, volume 25 in our series.

Doc Link has been arming DJs for decades, and more recently been supplying fantastic tracks in a constant stream of new jacks making new beats via his MGD (Modulate Goes Digital) label.

So it's about time. incredibly, this is Doc Link's first mix for 5 Mag, but not his first interview: that was in 2011, when we talked with him and Eman together. Which was our point of departure: you can read the interview here:

Jeremy Sylvester is synonymous with UK Garage having put in hundreds of songs under multiple aliases (among them Urban Dubz) to replenish and nourish the genre. His contributions don't just stop with his tracks, but also with his world renown sample packs that have armed many a producer with a killer arsenal. Jeremy has long been a favorite of ours, appearing on the cover of 5 Mag in December 2011, and Volume 07 of A 5 Mag Mix.

This one is particularly juicy, with Cz and special guest Terry Hunter @terry-hunter dishing on subjects including:

* How Terry connected with the man who created the iconic "In the beginning there was Jack" speech and rocked the whole House community...

* What happened that fateful Music Conference night when he, Armando Gallop, Kenny Dope and Todd Terry were about to knock each other out with a broken champagne bottle...

... and many more stories...

Internet Radio Shows have been the unsung backbone of our house music culture, giving a democratic voice to DJs from headliner to bedroom status from every corner of the globe.

Sean Dexter has been doing Bay Area Beatbox for over 4 years with passion and just as importantly: consistency. He’s been a great ambassador for the Bay Area, inviting guest DJs to participate and we felt it was time to highlight him in 5 Magazine.
