5 Magazine DJ Mixes, Podcasts and Free House Music

Manning a remote musical outpost nestled between white cliffs & fierce seas on the very southern tip of England, our field agent Sumsuch has begun building up a covert network of like-minded DJs, producers and label owners.

Allied by a resistance to the corporate structure which ever-more forcefully imposes itself upon our culture, the group began holding secret meetings. The conversations ranged from music production and industry topics right through to cookery and family life, often providing inspiration for articles and features for 5 Mag.

Presented in raw, unedited form, this series of round-table discussions lifts the curtain on House Music in Europe like never before, providing a real insight into life in this cut-throat, wonderful and at times surreal industry in 2017.

The second episode of Station H is also the concluding segment of Sumsuch's conversation with Richard Earnshaw & Kiko Navarro, plus BBE Music's Lee Bright.

From the UK Garage underground to mainstream R&B, contemporary chart-toppers and club classics, Wideboys' career has encompassed nearly every genre of dance music you can name. Discogs lists nearly 800 credited remixes from Artful Dodger to Aretha Franklin and Rihanna, and there are quite a few missing from that tally.

Perfect listening for long journeys or bouts of insomnia, this first, two part episode sees Sumsuch set up shop in an East London hotel room for a beer-fueled chat with former 5 Mag cover stars Richard Earnshaw & Kiko Navarro, as well as BBE Music's Lee Bright. Richard gives essential advice on whitebait (small, deep fried fish), Kiko gives has opinion on the Dance Music community's reaction to the death of Robert Miles, and Lee Bright on what makes him decide to sign a record.

Ask me to name my favorite producer and I'm not sure I can answer. Ask me to name 5 and I will come to Ricardo Miranda. The Chicago native is the man behind Noble Square Records - a label so good I'm ashamed to even ask for a promo and buy them full price on the side.

Here is his 5 Mag Mix. Read the 5 Mag Interview here: https://5mag.net/audio/5-mag-mix/ricardo-miranda-43/
