Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how incredible life is when we take a moment to truly appreciate it—not just for what we want it to be, but for what it already is. We’re all living these unfolding stories, shaped by relationships, experiences, and presence. And one book that has deeply shaped my perspective on this is A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller.

*ps this is my favourite book, so forgive me if you’ve already heard me recommend it!

It’s a beautiful, reflective journey about stepping out of passive storytelling and actively living a better story. Miller explores what it means to engage fully with life, to embrace tension, creativity, and presence rather than just trying to capture moments for later. As someone who loves storytelling, this book has reminded me to invest in the story I’m already living—to be present, to notice, and to fully step into the moments happening now. I dived deeply into it a few years ago, have a gander ⬇️

This morning, I found myself crying whilst watching this video on TikTok.

I’m not all certain at what moved me in isolation, but together, for some reason, my heart connected deeply to his countenance, his deep desire to help and also those words at the end.

I got up instantly and recorded the audio that you might just be listening to. So before you listen or maybe even after, my mission is to remind you that now more than ever, we need to wake up, shake it off and go again.

Thoughts.

For many reasons, God has been trying to shake up my world. Recently now more than ever, I’ve found myself desperate to lift the weight, and it’s like now more than ever I feel like I need to expel that which is inside me, that I internalised because I was broken. I know he’s shaking up my world because I got consumed by the hurts of the words projected to me.

With the boldness he put into me, the world called arrogant. And in my pursuit of his humility, I began to silence the parts of my character that he designed to be loud— To be heard.

Before me, there was him, and his purpose. And I think he’s trying to shake up your world today too.

So listen to these words, and be encouraged, and I will — By his grace, in obedience, meet you again with his words.

Now if you are new to this space, then welcome. This space is for my thoughts, as I navigate this woven tapestry that we call life, and God is moving things in my life, and in this space, I want to challenge us to participate, to begin and to listen, just for a little longer.
