5 Stone welcomes Captain Brent Lile of Campbellsville Kentucky Fire Department. Brent comes to discuss the KENTUCKY BROTHERHOOD RIDE and how they support families of fallen first responders. Frontline workers from across the country unite together in a treacherous 400 mile endurance road bike ride across the state of Kentucky to raise support for the families of the fallen frontline.

For us (the daily frontline worker), there is no POST Traumatic Stress. As frontline workers we are continually placed in traumatic high stress situations until we either retire or change careers. There is a HUGE need for awareness and intervention on this topic, and this is why we are bringing this series to the public. We want the public to relate to the ones that serve them daily, to understand what we and our families go through as we choose a live of service to others, and be a resource to those in need!

It's Special Operations Training in Kentucky. It's January. We're on the river. It's well below freezing. We're standing on the river bank with orders to break the ice and enter the frigid water. Once in we the boat, we must flip the boat while floating down the river and avoiding life threatening dangers and regain entry and complete the mission. When your boat flips.... stay together, protect each other, don't drop the oars and communicate. COMPLETE YOUR MISSION!
This mission was more than about technical skills, it was about having a shared sense of purpose with your team. As long as everyone is on the same page, communicates, and looks out for each other, the mission will be completed. This shared sense of purpose is what you can develop and rely on.
