This comes amidst a recent Pew Research Center analysis of CDC data, which found that gun deaths among children and teens in the U.S. increased by 50% from 1,732 in 2019 to 2,590 in 2021. The gun death rate for minors also rose by 46%, reaching its highest point since 1999, according to reporting from Pew Research Center.
