With the new year approaching, it's that time where we start reviewing our year and our teacher goals that we made at the start of the year. Did you accomplish everything you wanted to? I know I didn't! Looking at what we didn't know can be disappointing... but what about what we did do? Do you ever sit down and acknowledge all the things that you did do? On today’s episode, I'm talking all about how to own your wins and set intentional teacher goals!
We're all human. It’s our nature to always be striving to do more. However, when we do this, we tend to always be looking at where we can improve instead of looking at what we have done. Sometimes we think our wins need to be life-changing, but what about our small wins?! We do so much as teachers, parents and whatever other hat you wear, that it is easy to overlook our every day wins. Start thinking about our teacher goals as a journey rather than the destination.
I also discuss the concept of past, present and FUTURE self. Over time we really change into different people, so thinking about what your FUTURE self would tell your PRESENT self will help you see how much you're capable of. By thinking in this way, you can set specific teacher goals from a place of love for yourself and keep positive momentum. Throughout this episode, I give insight to shift the perspective of focusing on the "Gap" to focusing on the "Gain". These are simple, yet effective solutions to overcome your doubts so you will soon own your teacher wins.
Throughout this episode, I give insight that I have learned on my journey, to help shift the perspective of focusing on the "Gap" (what we we think we're lacking) to focusing on the "Gain" (what we have achieved). These are simple, yet effective solutions to overcome your doubts so you will soon own your teacher wins.
This episode is full of different methods to begin owning your wins. From spreadsheets, to vision boards, to books that have helped change my mindset, to simple questions you can ask yourself to readjust your perspective. All of these techniques will help you reach your teacher goals and truly OWN your wins.
