This month's 52 Weeks of BBQ adventures took Chuck and Mike to Smoke BBQ Brew Venue, 2M Smokehouse, Bob’s Smokehouse, Smokin’ Joe’s of Texas and a "Worth a Drive" trailer called Mesquite Shack BBQ. We also debate the merits of that toxic, villainous weed also known as mesquite wood, the unofficial barbecue fuel of San Antonio.
We talk about our visits to Bare Bull BBQ in Canyon Lake, BBQ Life, Ed’s Smoke-N-Q and Snoga’s BBQ on the Southeast Side. We also discuss the 1 BBQ side we would eat for the rest of our days.
We talk about our visits to Bad to the Bone BBQ, Bill Miller BBQ, Southside BBQ, The Barbecue Station and Two Bros. BBQ Market, and we opine on whether barbecue sandwiches are worth ordering.
August saw some of the series’ best sides, and we take on Texas’ obsession with smoke. Too much?
In this episode of ‘52 Weeks of BBQ,’ the Taste team discusses the month of July in BBQ eating. Overall, there was some pretty good barbecue, hitting on a few new startups, while also tackling a spot in New Braunfels that is an off-shoot of a legendary Texas establishment. We also went mobile, reviewing our first food truck. All four stops were rated Solid Neighborhood Options.
