Hal Myers is one of those magicians who has been working hard but keeping out of the limelight of working at magic conventions preferring instead to make a professional living. And indeed he has with performances around the world including cruise ships and even in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) perhaps better known as North Korea. His story was extensively written up in November 2013 Issue 10 of VANISH Magazine (get your free digital issue by Clicking Here), but he also talks about it in this week’s podcast. He has only recently popped up his head into the U.S. magic community by taking a 20+ city lecture tour across the country.

Hal Meyers is also known as Dameon. In this week’s episode, Hal explains how and why he decided to use this stage name. Our chat begins with his cruise work and why he didn’t enjoy it, but the meat of this story is really about how and why he traveled to and performed in North Korea.
