Dr Prerna Seghal reminds the community to remain vigilant because although NZ has moved to Level 2 and eliminated COVID-19 but it doesn't mean it has been eradicated.
She commended the Pacific community for their response to testing and flu vaccinations.
Dr Prerna Seghal has postgraduate degrees in both Pharmacy and Medicine and is an advanced Trainee in Paediatrics and Respiratory Medicine. She currently works as a Senior Registrar in Paediatrics at Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland.
Prerna was born in Fiji and raised in Tonga. She was the founding president of the Pacific Island Health Professionals Students Association. Her interests include Pacific Health, working to improve health outcomes and service delivery for minority populations and fostering a multicultural health workforce.
