» a study in the shocking condescension of Jesus Christ
There are moments along the journey of the Christian life when we grasp a bit of it, but for the most part it’s too extreme for us to mentally comprehend the shocking condescension of Jesus Christ coming to this earth, being born a baby and being laid in a feeding trough.
The Almighty lowering Himself to the level of a bondservant is hard enough to compute, but for Him to venture forth as a lamb unto slaughter, silently bearing the mockeries and magnificent tortures of a sinful race . . . on our behalf — we often just don’t get it.
We hear the words, but don’t fully understand the gravity of the words.
Though this series won’t be able to lessen the bewildering nature of Christ’s divine condescension, it is our hope that it helps you see it more clearly, and hopefully, grip it more thoroughly with awe and wonder.
NOTE: Only part one of this four-part series is released in and through our Daily Thunder Podcast, watch or download the other three parts at ellerslie.com/daily.
