Today I talk to intuitive health coach Bex Brame about diet culture and how she works with people to break free of it for good.
She talks about her own struggles with constant dieting that, until a bike accident several years ago, she didn't realise how much it had taken over her life. On the outside she looked super fit and healthy but on the inside she was constantly stuggling with the fear that if she missed even one day, she would completely ruin all her previous work.
We talk about how we have been conditioned over the years into thinking we have to look a certain way, and this feeds into the diets we try over and over again, and how we have forgotten how to listen to our own hunger queues and not even trusting them anymore because of it.
We talk about how this can show up not just with food, and how over exercising can be just as much a sign of disordered habits as constantly dieting, which some people may not realise.
