Clay and jars of clay is a reoccurring theme in Scripture. Clay jars are used to represent our human bodies, or more specifically, our very frail human bodies that are completely dependent upon the Sovereign Hand of God who formed us. Whether God decides to smash us or not to smash us is completely dependent upon His mercy as Jeremiah 19 shows us. But, as Paul shows us in Romans and 2 Corinthians, there is motive behind God's decision in the smashing!

Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." But what happens when you do exactly that, and your child walks away from the Lord. And in contrast, how do some really solid Christians come from atheist parents? We may strive and work to leave a godly and good legacy for our children and grandchildren, but that doesn't guarantee that they will follow in our footsteps. Why is that and how do the ancient kings of Judah illustrate exactly this?

Have you ever wondered what we'll eat in heaven? Revelation tells us there is no killing or death in heaven, so that would mean, no meat. Yet Isaiah foreshadows our feast in heaven telling us we will eat choice food flavored with marrow (or meat as some translations say). So which is it? What will we eat meat in heaven? Will there be cheeseburgers in paradise?

Psalm 136 is a hymn celebrating one of the greatest reasons there is to thank God: His love for us. And this love is not just any love; it’s a love that “endures forever” as the Psalmist tells us 26 times! The Psalm is meant to help us meditate on the God's enduring love, but what exactly does that mean?

We all know as Christians that we are to confess our sins to God, but the book of Hosea gives us guidance for the correct way to confess - both privately and corporately. It shows us the way of confession that best brings healing, restoration, and freedom from our sins.

One thing you notice when reading through the Bible, and you get to the books of 1 & 2 Chronicles is that is repeats much of what is already recorded in 1 & 2 Samuel and 1 & 2 Kings. Sometimes, it repeats narratives word for word, sometimes, though, the books of Chronicles add or omit details of the books of Samuel and Kings. You are not experiencing Deja Vu, nor is God being redundant. There is good reason for all of it. Join us as we delve into that reason!

Ecclesiastes 10:19 says, "Bread is made for laughter, and wine gladdens life,
and money answers everything." Is Solomon contradicting all of the other Scripture on the sin of gluttony, debauchery, and the love of money; or is there something else going on here? Of course there is!!
