For Veterans' Day 2022, we offer this reprise of a story first shared in April 2020. My father turned 98 on Wednesday. This story is shared in honor and memory of all World War II veterans with gratitude to all veterans of all wars--protectors of America.

– I’m running out of time.

With life in the balance, I had never felt the world like this before.

– ferocious, vicious, feral dogs trained to attack.

Having suspicions and barking up the wrong tree were just parts of the investigation.
