Sometimes it easy to get wrapped up in what we think we should want. Coupled with the I'll be happy when fallacy, this can be very dangerous for our mental health. This can happen in all walks of life and this is why I wanted to talk about it today.
I start by covering societaly norms and how it's almost expeceted to go college, 9-5, mortgage, marraige, kids, and how following this blindly isn't for everyone, if its not for you don't feel like there's something wrong with you if you decide to take a different past.
I then move to fitness and body ideals and how we have been sold a different ideal over the years without us ever stopping to wonder, is this what I really want?
How previous beauty standards affect use when we try to achieve current beauty standards.
How if you keep going back to the same diet its not working for you.
And How we need to be weary of filters and surgery when we are comparing ourselves to those who we aspire to look like.
I hope after listening to this ep you take time to reflect and see if there has been something niggling at you for a long time, that it could be that you don't actually want it and will go for what you do want instead!
