AI is evil. Most of the time I say this in softer terms, and the usual reply is – “it’s just a tool”. For my part, I cannot recall the last time my car jack or shovel acted autonomously. Nor can I recall any tool acting of its own accord. And even if it is “just a tool”, other tools that can do serious harm are not accessible at the level AI is now. Even a gun is very limited in who can get one, and its reach when used is only locally limited. There is no danger of my gardening implements getting out of control or doing harm anywhere, and this does not even address what AI is connected to. I was targeted by criminals using AI this week. Let me tell you that story.
