651Sports Update

Today Eric and I wrap up the winter sports season and preview what to expect in the spring sports season. We talk about what to expect in this month's Bugle story and announce our teams of the month. Plus, we set up our next Pro Pick.

On today's show, Eric and I are joined by Athletic Director, Matt Osborne from Humboldt High School and Coach Marlon McCoy from Central. We go over the scores and stats, State results, Teams of the Month, Como Park news, and we set up the next Pro Pick.

Today Eric and I talk to Central High School's Athletic Director, Treacy Funk. We talk about Central's winter season and how the teams are coping with the pandemic. Eric and I also go over scores, news, and pick our Teams of the Month.

We are back with the winter sports season. Most sports started practice this week and some teams got competition underway. We were joined by Co-Head Coach Tim Blase of the St. Paul/Sibley Riveters. Also joining us was pat Auran, Athletic Director from Highland Park.

On this episode I was joined by Marty Owings of Radio Free Nation fame. We went over some last minute gift ideas. We cover a lot and the the list can be found on the 651Sports Update Facebook page.

Today's is our last show of the year. We will be back in January, but before we go, listen to this packed episode. Eric and I were joined by Coach Scull of Como Park football and Coach Nikki of Highland Park volleyball. We also mention out Teams of the Month and go over our Pro Pick.

On today's show you will get caught up on the latest results of Section tournaments. Joining me in studio today was Amy Doherty. She is one of the Assistant Directors at the Minnesota State High School League. We talked about her role, section tournaments, and what it was like last March when COVID hit and impacted basketball tournaments.

Today we almost had too much show, but we fit it all in. Interviews today included, Kathy Jackson, Athletic Director from Harding High School. After that interview we talked to Coach Chris Steenberg of Highland Park's girls soccer team. Then we played the interview that Eric recorded with Washington's boys soccer captains and coach. We picked our Teams of the Month and had our Pro Pick. Phew!

On today's show Eric and I go over the scores and stats for the week. We talk about the conference champs that were crowned and discuss what is at stake for the rest of the season. We announce our Teams of the Month, talk about the upcoming MSHSL meeting regarding football and volleyball, and go over our Pro Pick.

But, instead we went out to the field, literally. We visited with Central Girls Soccer, Como Park Boys Soccer, Harding Girls Tennis, Humboldt Boys Soccer, and Highland Park/SPA Swimming and Diving. You will hear from the athletes themselves about what this season is like and what changes have been made. Plus, Eric and I bring back the Pro Pick.
