Did you know that when there has been domestic violence abuse during a relationship, it doesn't always stop after the relationship ends?
Unfortunately, the abuse often just transitions to a new form of abuse referred to as "post-separation abuse".

Tara and Anna are so pleased to welcome back Bea Cote' to the podcast to talk about "post-separation abuse," specifically how well it is portrayed in the Netflix Series, "Maid" (starring Margaret Qualley, Andie MacDowell, Nick Robinson).

Bea is a LCSW, LMFT, the founder of Impact, LLC, and Step Up to Family Safety, an organization created to provide services to abusers (typically men who have physically and emotionally harmed others (typically their male or female romantic partners).

In their work, both Tara and Bea have found this amazing resource, the Post Separation Abuse Wheel(created by Tina Swithin's organization One Mom's Battle). They have seen all too often that after a separation, the abuser continues to abuse. They really wanted to pair up again and discuss the aspects of this wheel by diving into the compelling story of the Netflix series "Maid"; where after fleeing an abusive relationship, a young mother finds a job cleaning houses as she fights to provide for her child and build them a better future.
