Pete for one, is the best power hitter in baseball... but some believe Dom Smith is a better first baseman.

With the new DH laws in the National League, it opens up the possibility of hitting both Smith and Alonso in the line up.

Besides his defense, Mets fans have pointed to Pete's higher numbers at the plate when he's just designated hitting...

While Dom is a creature of Habit and can get into a groove if he's playing consistently. 

It's a new world, a spidertackless, hitting-pitcherless world, a world where your 9 hole can bat over the Mendoza line for the year, 

there are lots of options, and deciding between two great ball players is anything but a problem...

That being said... my first baseman is a Polar Bear!

Well all miss the good 'ol days of seeing DeGrom hit ropes off the Citi Field scoreboard, but the Universal DH is here to stay.

And compared to most of the Baseball teams out there, this rule changes helps us immensly. 

Not just because historically Mets pitchers get hurt... but the depth of hitting on the squad allows for drastic line up changes without hurting the team.

It will allow our stars, Pete, Lindor, Marte, and Nimmo to contribute with the stick without having to play 9 innings of defense when they need an off day. 

Its also massive for a deep run, in baseball health down the stretch is everything, and every rep you can take off a players season, the fresher theyll be come September and October... When the season really starts.
