Breaking Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about an email sent by Reed Bruning, a regional organizer for the Harris-Walls 2024 Victory Campaign, targeting teachers and school officials in Gaston County, NC. Bruning's email was sent to about 400 school employees, asking them to involve high school students in the Harris-Walls campaign through unpaid internships or volunteer work.

 And Brett emphasizes that it is illegal for government employees, including teachers, to use public resources like school emails for political purposes. He cites North Carolina General Statute 115C-46.1, which prohibits public funds from being used to endorse or oppose any political candidate or campaign. 

Brett interviews Robert King, the Gaston County GOP chair, who criticized the Harris-Walls campaign's actions as desperate and inappropriate. King highlighted that reaching out to students in this manner crosses ethical boundaries and demonstrates the campaign's lack of viable strategy.
