#8 – Stop Calling Your Partner Antisocial/Bipolar/a Narcissist!

"I swear, you are so bipolar!"
"My ex was such a narcissist."
"I hate parties because I'm antisocial."
As a mental health professional, statements like these that are used casually and without proper information make me cringe. When we casually throw around diagnoses, we are harming our partners, painting false pictures of reality, and working against the movement of positive mental health.
Long story short: stop trying to diagnose your partner.
Please note: if you are in a relationship that has been harmful and abusive, please seek therapeutic support. Your experience is real, and the impact of abuse needs to be cared for in a safe, therapeutic context.
