Beth Martin grew up in rural Ontario, in a
farming community near Lake Huron—the kind of place you'd recognize from the
fiction of Alice Munro. Music was a tool Beth used to establish a cohesive
identity, and later to probe her relationship with the outside world. She
recently completed a PhD in English Literature, and is one of the co-founders
of the Megaphonic podcast network, where she co-hosts
