He developed the first valid scale to measure coincidence sensitivity, and has written several coincidence articles for Psychiatric Annals. He is the Founder of the Coincidence Project. The author or editor of 16 professional books, he is a visiting professor at the University of Virginia, attended Yale Medical School and completed a psychiatric residency at Stanford.
