In this week's beautiful episode we are joined by the amazing Amy, a Birth Mentor and Trauma Specialist to discuss moving through birth trauma. Amy tells us a bit about what birth trauma could be and how that might impact your parenting journey and your state of mind.
We discuss some ways to move through birth trauma, to accept the experience and take lessons from it. We also discuss how to get in touch with your sense of self and your inner strength and how others might be able to hold space for women who have experienced birth trauma to assist with their healing.
Statistics tell us that one in three Mothers experience their birth as traumatic (panda.org.au) which is why we feel conversations like these need to happen more often. We all have a role to play in healing ourselves and others after birth trauma, holding space for women to vocalise their experiences and change the perception of birth as being a powerful experience rather than a scary one.
