Network Rail operate the British rail network infrastructure. Over the past two years they've radically shifted how they identify training needs for their maintenance and engineering teams. They have figured out how to use data on the operational performance of the network to identify skill requirements. Guy Wilmshurst-Smith discusses how they got started and have continued to evolve and scale their approach. He shares lessons about working with business data that make this an important case study for all L&D professionals who want to create business value.
