Hello! Today's episode is in light of a conversation I had with a young adult client around identifying as a procrastinator. He desires to be someone who takes action but feels like he is forever cursed at being a procrastinator. As I shared with him, in order to change his identifying thought of being a procrastinator, he needs to believe new and different things on purpose before he has evidence for them. Instead of I am a procrastinator, his overarching thought can be I am someone who takes action. This is counterintuitive but so important to understand. Our brains are pattern predicting machines and they will go about finding evidence for whatever we are believing to be true. WIth this knowing, we can be more intentional and thoughtful about what we are believing about ourselves so that we can create more of who we want to become. See you on the inside! x
