You may have heard the regular Connect Voices round-ups here on Connect Radio every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month but have you ever wanted to know why the RNIB set up Connect Voices and what it is like getting involved in some of the great opportunities that are on offer to blind and partially sighted people?

 

Well Connect Radio’s Toby Davey caught up with Charlotte Jones, RNIB National Involvement Coordinator and Mark Griffiths, a visually impaired Connect Voices member to find out more.

 

Charlotte began by explaining to Toby why the RNIB set up Connect Voices, how blind and partially sighted people can get involved to give feedback on the development of RNIB products services and research as well as other great opportunities to help to make a more inclusive society for visually impaired people.

 

Mark who only lost his sight in the last couple of years outlined to Toby what he has got out of getting involved in Connect Voices, including the testing of the prototype Kellogg’s serial box with the NaviLens technology making the packaging and ingredient information accessible for blind and partially sighted people which will be rolling out across all Kellogg’s cereal boxes from January 2022 and his recent involvement in the Voice of the Customer research for the See Sport Differently campaign.
