#88 How to ACTUALLY ENJOY training with @cian0brien

Do you enjoy training?
Like do you actually ENJOY training or do it because you have to?
Today i've got Cian O'Brien back for his Hattrick Appearance on the podcast to talk about just how you can do this
We talk about goal setting and how having an intrinsically based goal will keep you going over and extrinsically based goal
How you don't have to love every element of it but you need to understand why it is bringing you closer to your goal
How if you see every session as a failure, you're not going to come back to it over and over again
That setting the bar to entry to your level is as important as the programme that you follow
And that being told you are an "athlete" is actaully more dangerous than it does good
We also talk about the importance of making training challenging enough as when we aim for too much we will only see it as a failure but if it's too easy we wont see it as any form of progression
This includes, weights, number of workouts per week and training intensity
As coaches we are constantly learning and if we advise you to do something a certain way and you think we are wrong, likelyhood is we have probably already tried it and proved that it cannot be done that way so do trust your coach
And if you think that you are the exception to the rule.. You're not
